One day, when we was waiting for Mom in the car, Dad and I have already discussed with Hugh what kind of birthday cake he wanted. It seemed that he wanted banana cake, while I suggested strawbary cake. But when we went to Walmart, we didn't find either of them from the brand cake mix that we like. So we ended up to buy him a pineapple cake.
My family all know that I am a birthday fan. I love celebrating everyone's birthday. For Didi's one, certainly I need to help, too. " wo shi da haizi."
Tonight while Mom was preparing for the cake, I helped her to sort the Goldenfish cracker that she would use to write on Hugh's birthday. I did a great sorting as they said. I also helped Mom to grease the pan and seperated the biscuit. When Mom mixed the frosting, I also helped her lick the spoon, hahaha.. Mom made an effort to choose the material to write on Hugh's cake. This time, she didn't use katchup. All materials are healthy, colorful and eatable. His name is written with grape and "Shengri kuaile" is written with the Goldenfish cracker that I sorted. Then kiwi is used to make a smile face. The most enjoyable thing that I helped Hugh for his birthday is to blow the candle, open the cards and gift, then read to him. haha...
Once these were all done, I was eager to go to another room to watch TV. oh, another thing I cooperated well is to let Mom and Dad take pictures with Hugh.

I am already two and half years old. These days, what I often said is " wo shi da haizi le." ( I am a big girl.) So I need ask a lot of similar questions, like "can I do this since I am big girl?" It is true. I can really do a lot of things now.
I have been practicing using scissors. Right now my skill is not bad. I am learning drawing, too. I could spell (orally) and recognize my name and Hugh's. The most entertaining thing is to make up stories or songs all by myself.

We had a holiday breakfast--bacon,biscuit, fried egg and grape fruit at our home, then we , the whole family headed for a movie--bedtime stories. We had a good time. We three enjoyed it. In fact, Didi too. He watched almost the whole movie. Only at the end, he fell in sleep with the story.
Tonight, we opened the Christmas gift from Aunt Amy---a Sushi playset. I really enjoy cutting. I cooked cabbiage for my whole family. Didi is a quick learner. In a short time, he figured out how to stick the sushi together. He also knew the princile of using knife. He really enjoyed using one chopstick to "stick" one of the sushi. It's great toy. we like it. Thank you Amy Gugu!
PS. we are looking forward to seeing Hugh's walking. He has been practice in the last two days. He did stand on his own for a little while once and twice and took one steop once or twice. It seems that he is working hard to start walking before or on his birthday.

Merry Christmas!
Yeye and Nainai came to have Christmas with us this year. It is so nice to spend time with them. Both Didi and me enjoy playing with them. Even though it is first time for Didi to meet them in person, he didn't have any problem to get along well with them. It is so amazing. Certainly, it is no any problem with me either. They have come to see me several times after I was born.
This year, no surprise that I continue to get a lot of nice clothes and fun toys. Didi got some, too. Temperarily, I still treat those as mine. We should share, isn't it right?

Tonight at Chinese church, we had a Christmas Party to celebrate Jesus' birth. We (little children from Sunday school) sang two songs. As they said, I performed very well compared to the others who are similar age as me. Mom said that I did perform better than the practice. I was happy that my other friends, like RuiRui and Isabella came, too.

As Christmas coming, we have more and more activities related. Tonight, we went to a fellowship where all the children and some adults acted a Christmas story play. I am one of the angels and Didi is Baby Jesus. He did great.
Tomorrow night, I will have a performance at Chinese Church. My group (Toddler group) will sing two songs with action. I hope that we will perform well.
Since it came to December, I started to do an advent calendar---putting on the stick of the date and people, animals or things related to Christmas, reading a verse each day. I really enjoy it. I couldn't wait the date-- Dec.25's coming. It's Jesus's birthday. I will make a cake and blow candle for him. haha... it is my little kiddo's way. I know He is our savior--the Lord of Jesus Christ!!

hey, we did make a good trip to Houston after we went to Dallas a week ago. We (Hugh and I ) behaved great. As my Mom said, I specially behaved supergreat---no any complaint and with a cheerful heart!!
We stayed with Mom's friend. I really like her cat--sarah. We went to the zoo after Mom handed in the materials of passport renewal. Houston's zoon is much better, especially with the nice weather (the day when we drove to Houston, we drove 2 hours in the snow. That's really abnormal for Houston snowing.)
While we were in Houston, we had an authentic Chinese food for dinner. Mom ordered the youtiao and doujiang ( typical chinese breakfast even it was dinner because she hasn't had that food since they came to America.) The youtiao is not bad. I had some. Certainly, it is the first time I had it since we was born. hahaha...Dad got his favorite spicy chicken---chongqing lazi ji.
On the way back, we stopped by Dad's friend's home. We wanted to see the twins, but they went to bed too early,so we missed them. The excited thing is to drive through the "Santa Wonderland". It is really a world of light with Christmas and local college theme. It is really nice and worthwhile to look.

It is not far for didi turning to one year old. it is so fast as my parents said. It seems that Hugh's one year old passes faster than mine.
They all predicted that Didi would walk earlier since he started crawling so ealier, but they are wrong.( I started my first step when I was 11 months old.) Now Hugh still doesn't like standing up by himself yet. He is still crusing. But boy, he is very fast even with his special crawling way. He alreay clearly speaks Mama, Baba, Dada and jiejie (close, but not exact yet). He can blow kiss so soundly, proudly and lovely. He really enjoy wrestling with me right now.Sometimes, I like to play with her in that kind of boyish way.
oh, Didi's sleep at night becomes much better. He normally wakes up once or twice. But every time Mom needs to come to nurse him. It seems that he enjoys sleeping in the same room with me. Certainly it is ok with me because he could accompany me. haha... Mom really enjoy seeing us in the morning either we two chat or laugh to each other in our own bed or we just wrestling or playing in the same bed. Another joyful moment for Mom is to feed us at the same time. We two are just like little birdies and only at that moment, Mom feels she has some control or it is so hard for her to keep us still if it is not for food.
By Mom's words, sometimes it is so enjoyable to see us growing each day, but sometimes it is also so hard and challenge to take care of us.

Daddy is in Canada for a friend's wedding. This morning when he called home, Mom put the phone on Hugh's ear. To our surprise, he even responsed to Daddy's voice-- baba.. and made a conversation understood only by himself. He even had face expression while he was "talking". Before when we called Laolao and Laoye, he never talked and sometimes he even pushed the phone away. It seems that he really recognize Daddy's voice.
