Baby Dedication
Today, my parents did the Baby Dedication for me at the Chinese Church with another baby Jennifer Huang.

I wore the Christening dress which belonged to my dad's grandfather. So it is more than 100 years old. I am very honoured to have that special dress from Yeye and Nainai. I hope that my mom could take good care of it. Then my children might use it later. haha..

Picture2: Pastor Sea is praying for me, but I don't like him putting hands on my head
Picture3: picture with Jennifer Huang's family, but I like to play with her hair.

A Baby Dedication is a ceremony in which believing parents, and sometimes entire families, make a committment before the Lord to submit a child to God's will and to raise that child according to God's Word and God's ways.

Responsibilities Involved in Baby Dedication

Christian parents who dedicate a child are making a promise to the Lord to do everything within their power to raise the child in a godly way, prayerfully until he or she can make a decision on his or her own to follow God. Parents who make this vow of committment are instructed to raise the child in the ways of God, and not according to their own ways. Some of the responsiblities include teaching and training the child in God's Word, demonstrating an example of godliness, disciplining according to God's ways, and praying earnestly for the child.

Trip to Ranch Musum
Today, at the Ranch Musum, there was an event called "Bring the past to life". Mom drove me there. It's pity that Dad couldn't go with us because he had to work. It is free. Certainly, if you want to donate, it is welcomed. I really enjoyed, watching people.Even though I am a real Texasan, there are still a lot of things that I saw first time today. From the following pictures, you can see some aspects of the Ranch life from 1850 to 1900.

Picture2: Two ways of washing clothes
Picture3: Cowboys telling story and sing
Picture4: Branding the Cow--each Ranch has it own brand for their cow

Baby Shower
This morning, Mom and I went to a baby shower. It's so nice that I saw Emily there, who is 5 month old, our neighbor, five blocks away from my house. Baby shower is American's custom---before the baby is born, the mom's relatives or friends will have a party for her. She can register some things that she needs for the baby. Then her relatives or friends will buy those for her. During the party, there are some games and drinks and snack. Today, the pregnant Ayi is a Chinese from Guizhou. Shen attends some activities, like craft, cooking and so on, held by church, so the ladies there organized this baby shower. As Mom said, when she was pregnant, she went there too. But I don't remember anything. haha..

Isn't it pleasant to have a friend coming afar?
From Tuesday till Thursday, Uncle Araz stayed with us. We had a great time together. My dad was very happy to have his dear friend here, so he even took days off to acompany his friend, certainly, Mom and I were very happy too. Uncle Araz is a nice guy. Right before he left, he took some pictures for me and my family. You know, he is a good photographer. We will miss him.
This afternoon, Mom went to listen to a speech given by Chris Gardener, who is the real charactor of the movie "the Pursuit of Happiness". Mom and the other ladies went to watch that movie during New Year Eve. It's really good. I just stayed with Dad at his office. Dad was happy that I slept two hours there.

Take good care of my "baby"
Mom often put me in the carseat and "shake" me in order to help me sleep. And most of time she buckles me in the carseat. It is really uncomfortable for me. I want to be out....
So today when I put my little "baby" in the carseat, i didn't buckle her, but I did "shaking" her. Taking care of baby is not an easy job.
Secrect: these days, I found out how to be out of those buckles like the swing, the stroller. I just squeezed myself and twisted, then I was out of those "chain".So far, I haven't figured out how to unbuckle yet, but I am confident it will not to long before I unbuckle them. haha...

Today a special guest will come to visit us. He is DAd's good friend-- Araz. They went to the same college and graduateschool. He also went to China to attend my parents' wedding. It is said that he is really nice guy. It will be the first time I meet him. Our whole familiy is excited to see him, especially at our own home.

back to nursary again!
Today, my parents decided to send me the nursary at FBC, where they attend the chapel class. Before I was with them while they were studying there. Recently, I often made some "noise", sometimes it really embarassed my parents.
I behaved well there. The three teachers are very nice. They praized me a lot when my parents went to pick me up. They all thought that I would sleep at Chinese church, but I didn't till 12:00pm. I only slept 30 minutes. The whole afternoon, I was very energetic, till 5:30pm, I finally went to the second nap.

Chat online with Laolao, Laoye
Last night, I waited for 2 hours to chat with my Laolao, Laoye. eryi and da jiu's family. We had a good time. Just during our chatting, I performed peekaboo when I stood in the walker. It's fun. That is the first time I did peekaboo when I was in standing position.

My Laolao and Laoye also wanted to see the vegetable yard, so my Dad went out to take the following pictures at 10:pm. His skill is not bad. you can see the yard, right? Can you figure out what kind of vegetable Mod has growed?

update of my growth!
Motor skill----pulling up; crusing---once I tried to stand up without assistant, but I could only stand for very short time by myself;dropping objects; reaching the objects far away; waving --nihao and zaijian; clapping hands,especially when I want something and listen to music;

Language----besides Mama, baba, dada, yaya, these days, I started saying nainai, which means grandma -- Dad's mom. sometimes, I could speak several words, or a long sentence which they don't understand, in fact, I am not so clear for what I am saying either. haha.. But Single word "Ba" may mean a lot--like baba, wanting something, surprising, babbling and so on. Right now when Mom asks me where is the light in Chinese, I could look up or point to the lights. I also can find some of my toys when she asks me to get them.

Sleep----right now they are trying to get a routine for me. I have two naps in general, each one may be one or one and half hour. At night, before they give me bath, I will eat my bottle. I enjoy the bath right now. I could flash, splash. fun... then Dad will hold me to sleep on the floor first, then he moves me to my crib. I will wake up once or twice. Rarely, I slept through. One night, I did sleep through, which made them very nervous.

First vegetable from our own yard!
Today, Mom finally got her first vegetable from our own yard. In fact, these are the ones her friend helped her grow. It's very fresh. When I saw it, I felt it was a little strange, but it did taste fresh. GoooD!

Little Librarian
In our office, there are book shelves on the floor. One is mine and another one is Dad's. At the beginning, I was only concerned about my own books. I often took them down and "read". These days, I found Dad's ones are interesting, too. A lot of them are related to China and Chinese study. I like to help Dad to reorganize them when I have time.
