My favourite books
Since I joined the summer reading program, I have read 40 books (in fact, it is Mom or Dad who read those for me). I have several favourite ones.
"I am invited to a party"---- a little pig and an elephant. They are good friends. The pig got an invitation. He invited his friend, the elephant, to go with him. The elephant gave a lot of suggestions about the clothes they should wear.
"Pedro's burro"-- a boy and his dad went to buy a burro (donkey). The burro says "hee haw"
"Biscuit visit the big city"--- I like the dog says "woof, woof"
"peek--a Thai hide-seek"--- I could find out where the little girl is hiding.
" Turtle and snake's halloween party"---I could tell which one is snake and which one is turtle even they wears the funny costumes.

I like the story time. I hope that I will win at the end of the program. haha..

BTW: till today, I have won 28 stickers, which means that I have gone to pee pee or poo poo 28 times by myself. hahha.. it is not far from the final success!! Every time, I count the stickers, so I can count till 10 both in English and Chinese. One stone two birds.

a great progress!
Today, I made a great progress for the Potty-training. Before nap at noon, we went to both No.1 and No.2, thus I ate two "jiangli" and put on two "Dora" stickers. This afternoon and this evening, I also got three successes. So totally, I have put on 12 stickers. Yeah!!!
This evening when we went to Walmart. Mom showed me the underwear with the pattern of Dora. She said when I completely do all on my own, she will buy those pretty underwears for me. If so, how can I pee or poo on "Dora"? I like "her" very much.
anyway, cheerful for myself!!

Summer programs
In the summer, the public libraries organized a lot of activities, singing with a singer, craft/puppet shows, petting zoo and so on. Mom chose the morning ones, thus we could have a nice nap in the afternoon. Yesterday, they show the parrot, snake, turtle from a pet store. I enjoy seeing them, especially I enjoy petting the turtle and the snake.
I also joined the summer reading club. I have read 30 books. Oh, in fact, it is Mom or Dad who read the 30 books for me. It is nice. I have got some gifts from the library---snakes toys, stickers, and windmill and so on. So I hope that I will win a prize at the end of the progam later. haha..
I really like Tuesday's story time. I like the singing and craft parts most. Mom have been keeping the works I made there. haha..

See the doctor!
Since Saturday, I had a hoarse voice. But I had no fever or running nose, especially I still acted normal. So Mom thought I would feel better couple days later. But this morning, she found my throat swollen. and my voice was worse, plus last night I woke up twice. This made Mom and Dad worried a lot.
So when Mom asked me whether I wanted to go to see the doctor, I said yes. My regular Pediatratian is sick, thus we have to see another one. I behaved very well. I mean I cooperated well with the nurses and the doctor. The doctor said I got the stripe throat, so he gave me antibiotic. Compared to my regular doctor, he is too quick as Mom said.
We don't know whether it is the pychology or not, my voice became much better after we came back from the doctor office.
I did try to drink a lot of fluid, but one strange thing is that I don't have too much appetite for fruits as before. This surprises all of my family. haha..

Potty-trainning
It is said that most Chinese babies learned to pee-pee or poo-poo very early because of the adults intensive training. Mom planned to start that while I was one year around because she bought me the potty then. But because she was pregnant with Didi, it was too hard for her to train me then. Time flies. As I am close to two, Mom starts her plan now, especially while Laolao and Laoye are here. . But the process is not so smooth as she expected. For the first days, she just expected me that I would go when I need to go. Especially sometime I did need to go, but I just held and resisted to go.But once Mom didn't keep eyes on me, I went. This really made mom upset. This kind of things happened several times, Mom was really disappointed. I was very frustrated, too. Later mom sort of gave up or postphoned for a while. These days, she read some tips about potty-training, so from this week, she suggested me to go to pee by myself again. Right now her strategy is to help me relax and once I did, she would give me a Chinese fruit Candy as a reward (jiangli) and let me call Dad, telling him the good news. She also bought Dora stickers. So now I know that if I do go, then I will have the reward and a sticker that I like. Haha... Since last night, I have been rewarded with three stickers. This morning, I even pooed by myself. haha...But later today, I had accidents five times. Mom reacted these accidents in more relaxing ways. Oh, Mom also borrowed books about Potty-training. Right now she felt regret that she was too pushy at the beginning. In fact it is she who needs to be trained about how to help baby do potty-training.

oh, one funny thing is: I don't know the name of the candy, so I just said " wo xiang chi jiangli" (I want to eat the reward.)
Right now, I am very clear about the process: go to pee myself, then eat the candy and call dad, and put on a sticker. haha...

The miracle languages
Since Mom and Dad's native languages are different, I have to try hard to learn the two languages in order to have a good communication with them.xixixi... But because Mom spent more time with me, especially after Laolao and Laoye came, Plus Dad sometimes spoke Chinese with me,too, my Chinese is much better than English.

Right now I can express myself very well in Chinese, and I also can repeat/retell what the others wanted me to say. My vocabulary is increasing quickly every day. But sometimes, I still couldn't distinguish some words very clealy, such as "bu", "mei" and "bie". these three words can all indicate negative meaning and are followed by a verb. For example, bu chi, mei chi and bie chi. The deep meaning is a lot different. Bu chi, means "don't want /like to eat",mei chi, means " haven't eaten" and bie chi means "don't eat." Sometimes, I was really got confused. Anyway, they can figure out which is my real meaning. haha..
Another thing is the word order in a sentence. For example, I often say "mama, bang bang wo,ni!"(Mom, help me, you.)
These days, my English is improving, too. Sometimes, I can say some English words which surprised Mom a lot. She never thought I knew that. For example, one day I just count in English, from one to ten, I only miss "seven" and "eight", but I can count"seven and eight" very well in Chinese. She was also surprised that I could say more letters in the right order now.
I am learning translation, too. For example, after Mom responsed "You are welcome" to my "thank you", I would murmur "wo( I/me in Chinese) welcome.)

Happy Fathers' Day!!
Happy Father's Day!! Today we did a lot for the celebration of Father's Day.
In the morning, we went to the "Daddies and Donuts" event at First Baptism Church. We took my laolao and laoye, too. Last year, it is only I who celebrated the Father's Day for Dad. This year, Didi joined me. It's so fun.
In the afternoon, we went to my parents' friend, Jackie's house, where we saw the longhorn, cows, horses and hearvest of the wheat. We took the other family too. Their parents are farmers from Taiwan.
On the way back, we went to have dinner at a Mexican resturant. Dad liked it.
We also took pictures before the tree that my Laoye saved. Last year, it didn't bloom, but this year it is blooming so beautifully because of Laoye's watering.
I also talked with Yeye, wishing him Happy Father's Day.
A nice day, hope that I will have a nice dream tonight, too!

Kongfu Panda!
Tuesday, my parents took me to see the movie---Kongfu Panda. It's really interesting movie. It seems that all people, at least people in that theather, like the movie. It has been a long time for our whole family to go to see a movie. oh, in fact, not the whole family, my brother didn't go with us. Laolao and Laoye helped to take care of him at home. He behaved well. We are looking forward to seeing a movie with him soon.

My Dad is back!
Yesterday Dad came back from his trip to Boston.Dad bought didi and me gifts--one MIT cap for me and one Harvard shirt for didi. You can guess what his intention/wish is. They all look great. He looked very tired. But he said he was really happy to be home. I enjoyed seeing dad and playing with him again. Even Didi also made great efforts to smile towards Dad.

Dad is in Boston!
Dad went to Boston for a conference. He said he missed Boston a lot. But unfortunately, right now he has not so many old friends there. He did go to the church he went before and ran into some people he knew. He also went to the used bookstore he liked very much. Certainly, he did eat some seafood. He will come back Wednesday. We all miss him. It is the first time for him to be away from us after I was born. But I did talk with him on the phone, keeping him updated about what's going on at home.
While these days are very hot in Lubbock, several days are more than 100 in a roll. Mom took us to the mall and science musuem. It's cool. I behaved well, especially bedtime at night. I should grow up and cooperate with Mom while Dad is not home, right?
I enjoyed to play with didi in the car while Mom drove. I just looked at him and laughed, then he laughed back loudly. It's so fun.

Ps. these days, I love to sing the songs "the wheels on the bus", "A BC song" in English, and "looking for a friend" in Chinese. I also can say and sign "I love you." haha.. Certainly, I also learned a lot of other signs for animals from the Tv program "signing time". I really loves the DVD and books I borrowed myself from the library. (I did break one DVD, so mom had to pay back as twice as the price is. so now I am learning not to open the DVD myself. but sometimes, I just forget....)
My vocabulary increased a lot, too. As mom said, because of my enlarged vocabulary, I gave demands so oftenly and so easily. Is it good or bad?
