daddy-daughter day out
Today, my dad and I had a special day. He took care of me for three hours while Mom was sitting in a friend's class. We both had fun even though we both were tired at the end.

First, Dad took me to his office. I have been there several times, so several of his colleagues knew me. Certainly, I needed to say hello to them.....I also watched the new Baby Einstain DVD. Dad said the thing I liked most in his office was to walk around in the hall or climb the stairs.

Later, Dad took me to see the fountain in the central square of the campus. I enjoyed playing with the water. I also played with some statues near the library. Anyway, I was very active because there were so many new things that there were not in my house, right?

Certainly, seeing mom was excited, too. When I saw her walking to me, I ran to her with my arms up, waving !!!

Babies in NICU reunion!
Today, at Convenant hospital, there was a party for the babies who were in NICU (newborn Intensive Care Unit)when they were born.
My parents took me there because last year this time, I just got out of the NICU after I stayed there for a week.
There were a lot of children today. Some are very tiny babies, some are already youth. I did see the nurse Branda who took care of me when I was there, but she couldn't recognize me because I changed a lot. She did recognize my parents. Later, we also got in line to take family pictures and watched a short vedio, introducing the new NICU and so on.
My parents felt really blessed that God gave me to them and now I am healthy and happy.
Later, my parents took me to a park nearby. I enjoy the green grass and the water. It's nice.

Highlight pictures of the trip to Sydney 4---my "low- keyed" birthday!!
July 13 is my birthday. My parents celebrated it in a low-keyed style. I mean we didn't have a party and huge or fancy birthday cake. But it is still very meaningful and special to me. Because we could make the trip to Sydney, I had a winter birthdy even though I was born in the hot summer of Texas. And one of Mom's friends came to join us from New Zealand. On the special day, we went to the famous Opera House in the world. Isn't it meaningfuland special?

Highlight pictures of the trip to Sydney 3----relaxing daily life in Sydney
While my dad was in the conference, my mom walked me around the neighborhood where our hotel was. And one day, we took a city- sightseeing bus to see the city. You can hop on and hop off because the ticket is valid for 24 hours. But we didn't hop too much because of me and my sibling. haha...

My experience of Jet leg!
My trip to Sydney was good, but the jet leg really bothered me several days after we came back. When we were in Sydney, I didn't too strongly feel jet leg, but it took me whole week to adapt to the time here after we were back. It troubled my parents a lot. At least two nights, I stayed up till 3:00-4:00am. One night around 2:00am, my dad drove me around because he thought I might go to sleep in the car, but I didn't. So they had to think about the other ways to help me go to sleep. Anyway, these days, my parents were "challenged" a lot by my jet leg.
Thankfully, they were not mad with me. Like my dad said," I still love you!" When I was staying up and playing or being fussy, they just encouraged each other by the attitude --Cherish every minute with me. This really helped. This attitude released them from the frustration and also didn't do harm on me. I hope that we will all have a right attitude while we are in a frustrating situation.

Pretending to do something
Last night (July21) when my mom was chatting with Laolao, laoye, I sometimes joined their conversation, but sometimes, I just played with an empty cheero bottle. Later, I just came to mom and grabbed her hand, then picked up "something" from her hand and put "it" into the bottle, then I came to my dad and did the same thing. I repeated this action for a while, then I started to pour the bottle into my parents' hands in turn. This pretending made my parents remember how they gave me the cheero when the bottle was full of cheero.
My parents were really surprised by what I pretended and imagined to do. Certainly, they were very happy.

I got promoted!
Last Sunday, my parents sent me to the nursery while they went to the 11:00am service. Since the time was different from the chapel class they normally went, the teachers in the nursery room were different, too even the room was the same as before.
When my parents came to the room to find me after the service, they were told that I was in next room and my bag was there, too because I was too mobile. They were very surprised, thinking whether I did something wrong and offended the teachers. When they came to the room where I was, the teachers asked wheather they were Elsa Tate's parents and how old I was. When they knew that I was one year old, they commented that she was a little smaller than the others, who were 18 month old or up, but she was the same active and mobile as the others.
Later, my dad teased me that I got promoted.

Highlight pictures of trip to Sydney 2---Taronga Zoo
On Sunday, we went to the zoo. The weather was not so good. But we did see some special animals there, especially my Dad, who walked around a lot. My Mom and I stayed inside for a while.
First, we took a ferry to the bottom of the zoo, then we got into a cable to the inside of the zoo.

Highlight pictures of the trip to Sydney 1---leaving and arrival
We left Lubbock on July 5th and came back on July 14th.

On the day when we left Lubbock, it rained heavily. But we were so thankful that we got a flight earlier than the one we were supposed to take. And the rest of the other two flights were on schedule, too. As you know, the former two days, several flights were canceled
because of Dallas' bad weather.

Picture1: Look, how heavy the rain was!
Picture2: I know why I will fly.
Picture3: Lubbock is the hometown of cotton.
Picture4: Where is Sydney?
Picture5: Hello, Sydney, we are here!

Happy July 4th!
Because we were supposed to leave for Sydney on July 5th, so most of July 4th, my parents spent time on packing. But they did hang the flag out and took me to the parade. It was pity that we didn't go to see the firework since I fell into sleep.
Here are some pictures they took for me at the Parade.

Picture2: She is drawing a butterfly on my left arm.
